My initial response to the poem

My initial response to e-poetry based on the pieces assigned so far is that they were interesting works of art. After reading the cigarette piece over three times, I finally understood that he had given up smoking and he was remembering the times where he was a smoker. But the best memory that he had while being a smoker was when he finally had quite and threw it out the window on the interstate letting it fall into the parallel lines.

The other story Nine, confused me a bit because I did not understand the point of the poem until I had read the flash poem. I interoperated it as he had Nine different stages of life, each of them bringing new opportunity, new stages of life, having shifts in attitude and as well as a new community and space. He had adventure in his life, bringing in new and unique people.

The last poem that I read was about a Mermaid, it was called, A young man and Old: The Mermaid. The mermaid had picked out her man in the sea and when they had found each other and knew they were meant to be. They were very happy and after all of the happiness that they had shared they became so overwhelmed and love and even though they were mermaids, they had drowned.

This is the way that I had interoperated the poem, each of them had unique character and showed their individual person very well, giving them the qualities that are needed. I believe that the other pages that you sent to us besides the poem were very helpful because they gave me clues so that I would make sure to look closer in one general area. I believe that each poem that was given to me to read had their own personal significance that was portrayed by the authors very well.
